About us– Pfandhaus Hermann

The history of Stephan Hermann's company demonstrates that good things often require a special maturation period, but are then of the highest quality and durability.

Since 1982, the current business of collateral security and the sale of jewelry and gems has continuously evolved – in a market where trust and integrity are 100 % essential, this is the best indicator of the quality of our work.

The initial two-man team of the antiques shop in the Altenhof, consisting of Stephan Hermann and the Koblenz native Karl-Heinz Urbild, grew larger with each development step and quickly adapted its business structure to changing market conditions.

While we originally pawned technical devices such as record players, televisions, pictures, mink coats – in short, any valuable asset – our business focus gradually shifted from pure pawning to trading in jewelry and gems. We also established an excellent reputation on modern sales platforms like eBay.

As the business continued to grow, the original store soon became too small, and further changes were necessary. After a nine-year "stopover" in premises near the Church of Our Lady, we moved to the premises we still have today in Altengraben, Koblenz. This developmental step paved the way for the company's enormous growth and success story, which continues unabated to this day.

In addition to our daily business with our pawn shop customers, an increasing number of satisfied customers visit our jewelry store, ensuring a brisk business in our premises.

In addition, several goldsmiths and master goldsmiths now work in our company, producing our own jewelry lines as well as custom pieces of the highest quality with creativity and innovation.
